This is one of my favorite times of the year. Not because there's some holiday to be celebrated, but because we get to listen to the prophets of God give us guidance and direction in our lives. I often feel really overwhelmed by the things that I'm responsible for at home, at school, at work, as a basic human being, and as a wife, but during these two days I am so comforted by the words of God as told by His apostles on this earth.
This morning I missed the first session because I was at work. They had us come in at 5:30. FIVE THIRTY. That is an awful, awful hour. Sometimes I can't believe that I used to get up at that time every day for high school. But I am so glad to be home! I work every Saturday, usually until 4 or 5, so it's quite nice to be home with the whole day ahead of me.
Spencer and I are driving up to Park City to spend the rest of the weekend with his side of the family. Jim rented a condo for us to spend the weekend in, and I'm quite excited to get out of Provo. It's just so COLD up in Park City....

Engagements
Here are just a few of our beautiful engagement pictures from the wonderful Jenna Bechtholt Photography! Seriously, we had way too many good pictures, and I don't want to overwhelm you all, so here are our favorites!
Trip to Texas (We're ENGAGED!!)
[Date: May 11, 2013]
I took Spencer home to meet my parents.
We'd talked about getting married, so I figured my parents should at least meet the guy before we got engaged. I really couldn't wait for them to meet him and for him to meet my folks! I was also super excited to show him around Copperas Cove and for him to see all the places that meant the most to me and held my favorite memories of growing up.
Along with all this memory lane business that we had planned, we planned on seeing Iron Man 3, picking some strawberries with my parents, and having a little photoshoot with Amanda (so that our first pictures together weren't from our engagement session). So here are some of the best photos from that day.

I thought we were just taking some normal, couple-y pictures.
Spencer had something else in mind.
You might say he was a little nervous.
You might also say I was a little bit clueless.
After finishing in one spot, Spencer said he had an idea for that location. I was worried. With good reason. "You're going to stand right here...
"...and I'm going to pull this out of my pocket...
"Kristen, will you marry me?"
Oh yeah, I said "YES!"
He was happy.
I was happy.
We were just a bit happy together.
I look like a giddy teenage girl.
I love him.
And he loves me.
And so we decided to get married.
